Empowering conservation with technology
Our main product, SmartTrap® is a biosecurity wireless monitoring system using LoRaWAN® IoT network.*
* The LoRaWAN® specification is a Low Power, Wide Area (LPWA) networking protocol designed to wirelessly connect battery operated ‘things’ to the internet in regional, national or global networks, and targets key Internet of Things (IoT) requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility and localization services.
- 15km + range
- NZ radio compliant
- Internal antenna
- Optimized to work in dense forest and over long open distances.
Each node can run for five years on batteries.
When a trap is sprung, a signal is sent to a base station (LoRa gateway) using the radio network, then uploaded to the internet.

We bring current technology to the conservation industry for the benefit of our native species. SmartTrap® is a successful result in collaboration with hardware engineers, software development specialists and conservation workers. This product gives the conservation industry the sufficiency it needs to address the substantial challenges it faces.
As a technology company, we develop bespoke remotely wireless monitoring systems. Simple and effective tools for other rural and metropolitan monitoring tasks including remote power and gate minding are few on our lists.
